Is it just me, or has everyone else had it up to here (*Indicates to a point approximately eye height*) with the flood of pilgrims in Sydney reaching biblical proportions? Oh I'm going to hell for that pun, but the thing is, there is only so much bible bashing that can go on in my vicinity before I begin to feel violated. I mean, It's cool and all that they believe in some higher power motivating them, but do they have to do it near me?
The answer is yes, they do! It wouldn't be right if they didn't try to proclaim their faith as loudly and inconsiderately as possible. I feel really bad for the people living in the Randwick area, being kept up at night because of 100,000+ Christians singing, dancing and carrying on like a gang of apes.
World Youth Day - Let's have a look at what it means.
World - Noun: the earth or globe, considered as a planet.
Youth - adjective: the condition of being young.
Day - Noun: the interval of light between two successive nights.
So let me get this straight, World Youth Day, in it's most basic definition, has absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with religion! What should be a day long international celebration of young people has been tainted. (Not the first and definitely not the last thing the Catholic Church has ruined...) We have been ripped off! Another thing I have been excluded from!
I will be glad when this whole thing blows over though, so I can go back to my usual anti-christic ways in peace and quiet.
