Just in case you haven't noticed yet, Microsoft is giving out development and design tools, including Visual Studio 2008, XNA Game Studio and Expression Studio 2, for free to university students over at http://www.dreamspark.com
You'll need a Windows Live account along with your credentials (for UTS students, this would be your student number and password) in order to gain access to the stuff. (verification by a Shibboth server?)
Personally I'm just in it to see how Expression Studio stacks up against Macromedia's stuff (its Adobe, but I hate their effing Update Manager). This'll be interesting.
